These quilted banners are inspired by the never-ending maelstrom of headlines, political turmoil, and confusion we face in the world, while also embracing the beauty and magic that can be found in it. While it is possible that both things are true at once, most of the world exists in between. The color transitions in this work demonstrate that these spectrums are more real than simple binaries.

The title of this work is based on Mary Olivier's poem "Starlings in Winter."
